A collection of things I use or recommend
Folks often ask me about things I use or recommend. As that happens I will add them to this page as a quick reference
Media Day & Photography
- Media Day Logo Backdrop
- 10' x 8' Custom Tension Fabric Backdrop — Banner Buzz
- 12' x 10' Fescue Turf — Home Depot
- Lighting Kit — B&H List
- Media Day White Seamless Setup — B&H List
- Photography Kit — B&H List
Broadcast
- Specialty Kits
- Camera Rails Kit — Photo Gallery — Amazon List
- Tennis Streaming — Photo Gallery — Amazon List
- Audio
- Audio Mixers — A choice of audio mixer really depends on your use case. Personally I like a digital mixer that can be controlled remotely. That won't work if you need something with faders sitting next to the play-by-play
- RODE RODECaster Pro II — B&H
- Behringer FLOW 8 — Amazon — This mixer is a little quirky, but has a lot of inputs for its size.
- Behringer X Air XR12 | Digital Mixer — Sweetwater — If you do not need a USB interface.
- Behringer X Air XR18 | Digital Mixer — Sweetwater — If you need a USB interface.
- Behringer WING Rack | Digital Mixer — Sweetwater — If you need lot of inputs, mix busses and dante. I have the X32, but the WING is its replacement.
- Yamaha MG10XU | Analog Mixer — B&H — If you just need a cheap USB mixer with a handful of inputs
- Broadcast Cameras
- I really like the JVC GY-HC500UN, but JVC is getting out of the pro video market so I would not suggest purchasing JVC cameras.
- Panasonic AG-CX370 — B&H — This is the one I've been eyeing for my next camera
- Canon XA65 — B&H
- Sony PXW-Z20 B&H
- Canon Vixia HF G70 — B&H — If you want a cheaper camera with just HDMI
- POV Cameras
- NDI Cameras
- Switcher — I prefer vMix on Windows. It's very flexible, but that comes at a cost. If you want simple, Production Truck on an M4 Mac is hard to beat.
